WHAT: Bootcamp Workout Ideas Volume 2
A 73 page eBook with warm ups, sample 3 month program and basic fitness assessment, 9 running workouts (remind me to mention “Stinky Shirt”), 12 H.I.T. workouts, 10 teamwork activities, 6 strength workouts, 6 boxing workouts, 7 new circuit workouts and more.
WHO: Garry Robinson of Kaizen Outdoor Fitness in Australia.
Garry holds the following qualifications and certifications:
Level 2 Registered Personal Trainer – Fitness Australia
Level 1 Crossfit Trainer
MTT Bootcamp Instructor
Punchfit Trainer & Punchfit Punch Pad Instructor
BASI Snowboard Instructor
(and he created a workout called “Stinky Shirt” which, in my mind, is more important than ANY certification. Matter of fact, from here on out, I choose to call him “Stinky” Garry Robinson. Remind me to tell you about that.
REVIEW: Stinky Garry created Bootcamp Workout Ideas back in November of 2011. He’s back with Volume 2 which is filled with completely new material.
He’s added clickable links within the eBook to exercise demos on his YouTube channel. The table of contents also has clickable links that take you directly to the content that you want to view. He’s getting this technology stuff down!
Well done and very useful.
No problem opening the links in the eBook from my desktop computer but “no go” on my Kindle Fire (although it could just be a settings problem within my Kindle)
It’s obvious that Stinky Garry is VERY passionate and knowledgeable about his work.
In the intro area of the eBook, he points out that:
“You may not have considered this, but developing a group PT program for the general public is actually more complicated than it is for military recruits. Civilian PTIs deal with a far more varied and diverse population in terms of age, physical ability and motivation level.”
“Regardless of the group demographic, if you are not training with a definite purpose you will not get consistently good results. What you will find here is a program designed specifically for training civilian groups of individuals with differing abilities. The program has proven to be extremely effective and it’s also fun and engaging enough to maintain adherence.”
Some very good points and it’s nice to know that Stinky Garry actually practices what he preaches (he actually has experience running boot camps! Refreshing, isn’t it?)
I click on the section called “Nine Running Based Workouts” and scroll through.
Low and behold, there in the middle of the section is a workout called “Stinky Shirt”.
I MUST know what that is.
I hand my 2 month OLD son (who’s also stinky) over to my wife and tell her I have important business to handle.
After eyeballing some of the other running workouts such as:
- The Long Shuttle
- Every Minute On The Minute #1 (Broad Jump Sprints)
- Indian Run #3 (Crawls and Jumps)
- Flag Day
- Sprinting #4 (Short Sprints)
Here’s what I see:
OK, I love this for so many reasons.
People will laugh, gag, talk to their friends, coworkers, psychiatrists (“Stinky Garry made me wear his stinky shirt”), AND they’ll get a great workout.
Now if you are crazy and don’t want your bootcampers to wear a stinky shirt how about having the men wear a bra and the women wear or hold a jock strap (a clean brand new one of course).
Will people be offended? I don’t know.
You’ll find out soon enough.
Let me know.
I could go on and on about how much I like Stinky’s new eBook but I know you’re busy and got things to do, people to train and Holiday gifts to buy.
And do yourself a favor, buy this eBook as a gift for yourself and your bootcampers. This is a must have for 2013 and will help kick off your bootcamp business with a major bang.
As Stinky Garry tells us, “there’s 10 warmups, 30+ new boxing combos and 50 brand new bootcamp workouts – with links to exercise videos and a whole batch of new content.”
It’s called “Bootcamp Workout Ideas – Volume 2” and you can find out more about it HERE
