This game is played with your entire bootcamp class.
Tell them that they have to follow your commands without messing up.
The commands are:
- Half Clap – everyone brings their hands together as if they are going to clap but stop short of actually clapping. There should be no clapping or the entire group gets a penalty (see below)
- Clap – everyone claps once
- Double Clap – everyone claps twice
- High Five – everyone simulates the motion of giving a high five (as if someone is standing in front of them)
Once they understand the commands, quickly begin to loudly call them out.
“Clap” – everyone should clap once.
“High Five” – everyone should simulate a high five.
“Half Clap” – everyone performs this WITHOUT actually clapping.
Mix it up and go fast with the commands.
Penalty – If someone screws up, then you can assign the group a penalty such as 10 burpees or 10 squat jumps, etc. You DON’T want to make the person who screwed up feel bad in front of the group don’t focus on them – unless you know your group really well and can joke with them.
Play for a minute or 2 before going on to the next activity.
As mentioned, this is a great warm up/wake up activity.
