We all get those boot camp clients who show up early to class.
And although we love talking with them, we’ve got 10 precious minutes until the boot camp class starts, we’re trying to finish getting set up, writing out the workout and the early arrivals are asking us questions, talking about sore they are or why they weren’t at class the other day.
And of course, I start running my mouth, forget what I’m doing and then I’m late to start my own class.
If that ever happens to you, here’s a cool “fitness toy” that I’ve been successfully using with those early arrivals.
It’s called “Cosmic Keep Away“.
It’s made by Nerf so the ball is soft, throwable and catchable.
The ball is light weight and easy to handle. You put a colored band across your hand as shown above.
You need a least 3 players and can have up to 6 (more if you get more bands).
Here’s part of a review from Amazon:
It is so cool how they wear colored bands on their hands and get to sign in by touching the ball. The ball calls out each color as they touch it. The game determines which color does what so no one can say someone isnt playing fair. Not one argument when they were playing. If you want a game that gets them moving and laughing this is the one!
There are a few “keep away” type games that you can play that are fun “wake up” type games that my boot campers love and I’m sure yours will too.
When your early arrivals come to class and you need to buy some time, just toss them this and have players join in as they arrive until you’re ready to start the class.
I’ve been using “Cosmic Keep Away” for 3 years in my classes and it’s always a lot of fun.
Here’s a link to a 45 second YouTube video of it in action.
“Hi Scott, I love all of your workouts! I have purchased and used most of your workouts for my boot camp for about two years now.
Thank you for the great videos with the little guys that you use to explain the rules.
A wonderful tool! Keep the ideas coming…. I am very grateful! You are great at this and it has helped me build a successful boot camp business on my own!
Thank you, thank you!” Kim Boot Camp Owner/Instructor
