A great way to get more clients to your bootcamps is to utilize something that the elementary schools have the kids bring home
These are called “Friday Folders” in our kids school. They typically have the kids homework, school announcements and
any other relevant school info. The kids bring these Friday Folders home with them on Fridays.
As a father/bootcamp owner who is always on the lookout for marketing opportunities, I wondered if the schools would be open to
a win-win. Schools are always looking for ways to make money. I’m always looking for ways to reach my potential bootcamp customers. Parents make up my typical client so what I’m about to share may be a perfect fit for you.
I wondered if the schools would be open to my advertising my bootcamp business by placing a professional flyer and/or a business card in the Friday Folder. I would be willing to pay a fee to the school to allow me to do this each month. In return I could send my bootcamp flyer and/or business card directly to the parent each week.
There are 587 kids in our elementary school according to the local data. These Friday Folders are the first thing that get opened in my house each Friday. And everything gets looked at closely. These things are treated with extra care. The kids have to guard these folders with their lives and bring them
back to school on Monday to prepare for the following Friday.
NAME YOUR PRICE
I called my schools PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) contact and ran my idea by her. She sat there in stunned silence as I suggested my idea.
foot and quickly SHUT THE HECK UP!)
“How much would you be willing to pay each month?”, she asked. “$20 bucks”, I grandly responded in a way that made it sound like $1000. NOTE – In my experience, you will not be dealing with a negotiating expert so you can probably name your price.
HOW TO GET MORE BOOTCAMP CLIENTS
I then suggested that they accept a limited number of flyers for restaurants, dry cleaners, and anything else that parents might be interested in. I say limited number because, maybe I’m wrong, I doubt that you’d want an unlimited number of ads falling out of these Friday Folders.
So if 6-8 local businesses take advantage, the schools might be able to bring in $120-$200 bucks a month or more for NO EXTRA work. And I get in front of 587 kids parents. In our elementary schools, volunteers are stuffing those folders with the materials – I know because my wife is a volunteer so it wouldn’t create an extra strain on the school manpower.
Let me know if you try this and what type of result you get.
