I was just making a list of all of the things that I needed to get done that WEREN’T getting done. The usual: email, walking the dog, making a dentist appt, renewing my drivers license, admin stuff, school Holiday activities with my kids… I was starting to get a bit stressed and then I realized, THIS IS LIFE.
It reminded me of that scene in “As Good As It Gets” where Jack Nicholson suddenly realizes that THIS is real life, right now. Real life isn’t just in the perfect split second when the emails are answered and the kids are clean and happy and tucked in bed.
Real life isn’t just when you reach your target weight and the dishes are done. “Real life” is in the messes, at the school Christmas event,in the Dentist chair, in the mud with my kids and the post Holiday treat too-tight waistband and the sibling rivalry over the window seat in the car.
And we’re blessed to be able to experience every second of it. And we as fitness professionals are even MORE blessed because we get to change people’s lives. That’s what I’ve dedicated the last 28 years of my life to – helping others live the healthiest, happiest version of themselves that they can be.
